Tween After School Sewing/Crafts Schedule Ages 9 – 15 January – March newsletter OUR SEWING ROOM 541-225-4857 Classes are the first 4 weeks of each month and the $10.50 per week fee will remain in effect through June 2012. If your child will not be at class due to illness, please call OSR by the prior day and a refund will be issued towards the next month fees. Wednesday classes are for those that are new to sewing or have little experience. They will learn how to operate the machines and sew craft projects to take home. Most projects will take multiple classes to complete. Moving to Thursday becomes available to them as they become self sufficient in the sewing basics. In this class, another level of technical sewing is added as well as introducing patterns, layouts and fabric cutting. January we will be exploring the world of needlepoint and beading. We will start with bookmarks and bracelets, then create our own beads. February is Community Service Month at OUR SEWING ROOM, which will be mimicked in our classes; - American Sewing Guild will be making bibs for the Eugene Mission. Our girls will be putting the finishing touches on them for that group - We will learn how to “tie” a quilt, donating it to the Mission. - 16 x 21” doll quilts will be made for the Lyons Oregon Volunteer Fire Dept. They give young girls from less fortunate homes a doll, doll bed and blanket from Santa. March will take us back to sewing. Here they will create wall art and incorporate techniques learned in January for embellishing them.
